Is it just me or have the last few months felt rocky? I’ve experienced big swings in my equilibrium. Sometimes I feel grounded and then I feel insecure. This see-saw of emotions is tiring, it catches me out time and again.
Also, I’ve noticed a sadness arise in me. It feels like it is seeping in from the world. Is it because of the constant stream of information about wars – or toxic-politics? Maybe it is the bombardment of death and grief that I witness daily on the news – or is it because of the senseless destruction of eco-systems and wildlife?
I feel unstable within, and this instability expresses itself with a sense of being lost and sadness.
My steady flame of hope, a flame that has been with me for so long, is struggling in this onslaught. It dips and sputters, threatening to give up. So far it has sunk low, but not stopped, hope is still alive. I know it can never be extinguished, although sometimes my heart lurches with fear as it struggles to give light.
When you read this, you might think I am depressed or sad. That is not the case at all. I feel as if I am listening out, deeply listening and waiting for something to be created and form within me. It is not quite there yet, soon it will emerge. I feel as if I am shedding an old skin and soon I will find language for it. I’m just not clear what it is right now.
This up and down of emotion, this sense of sadness and this uncertainty of hope seem to be a healthy response to an unstable world. I know I am being called to look within, to allow this rising creative energy, to be expressed. I am being called to stand steady in a turbulent world and feel rooted and grounded to a healing energy that is yearning to be released.
Am I the only one experiencing this? Are you too feeling a shift, an awakening, a sense of something new emerging?
Are you too feeling a sense of instability and during this instability are you noticing that something new is being created?
I’d love to hear from you if you are.

Oh my, you have summed up exactly how I’m feeling currently Liz. The world is wearing me down and I feel scared of what will become of me/us. Thank you for your words, it’s always reassuring to know you are not alone.
Siobhan – to me it feels as though this discomfort is heralding something new, a shift. Any discomfort I feel is only reminding me to look within, to look towards my true self. Then from that space I know I can stand grounded in the world and do whatever needs to be done.
I’m not experience this volatility, Liz. I listen to the news and find I can cope as long as it does not go on for too long. It washes over me. I think this adjusting the exposure is critical unless you want something to emerge from being submerged. Of course, responding is outside in so I’d probably reject it once realising where it’s apparently coming from. The answer as alway is “go deeper”.
Love,
Peter it sounds as though you are on your own perfect journey – keep going deeper, Love liz x
