If you’ve ever wanted to write a book or to create poetry or to allow your creative literary juices to flow, then Ivybridge is the place to visit from 13th to 17th September.
The whole town is buzzing with anticipation and the festival events will be at venues like The Watermark Centre and library; The Bridge Community Cafe; The Ivybridge Bookshop; Ivybridge Brewing Company; South Devon Tennis Centre; cafes; shops; leisure centre, churches and other businesses across town.
The festival has been the brain-child of author Alison Huntingford who runs the South Hams Authors Network. She is passionate about literature and wants to inspire residents to pick up their pens and have a go at writing.
This week Inner Compass Guide’s Liz Scott and Lucy Richards from ‘Everything Ivybridge’ have gone to visit Alison to learn more about what’s on offer and to see how people can get involved with the South Hams Literary Festival 2023
