IVYBRIDGE COMMUNITY HUB RETURNS

Thanks to Devon County Council’s “Reconnect, Rebuild, Recover” community fund, the Ivybridge Community Hub will be back for the Autumn. We’ll meet every Tuesday at Ivybridge Library, 2pm – 3.30pm from 19th October until 7th December and we’d love to welcome you.

What is the Community Hub?

The Community Hub is a free drop-in at Ivybridge Library (located in The Watermark building), run by Liz from Inner Compass Guide CIC and Jessica, Ivybridge’s Community Connector. Each week a different community group from Ivybridge joins us to share what they do. We try out their activity and then enjoy a free cuppa afterwards. The activity provides a great talking point.

During the pilot in the summer we enjoyed arts and crafts, table tennis and relaxation to name a few. In the autumn we’re looking forward to trying out singing, indoor gardening, reading with a book group, photography, arts and crafts and yoga.

It’s a great opportunity to try out some of the varied and interesting groups and activities that take place in Ivybridge and it’s a chance for the groups themselves to showcase what they offer.

We asked people who came to the pilot to tell us how they found it. Here is some of their feedback:

  • “It helped me see I can enjoy different things.”
  • “It was welcoming right from the start.”
  • “It provided me with ‘Time for Me’.”
  • “I enjoyed having a laugh and absolutely loved meeting new people.”
  • “I enjoyed learning a new skill and creating something.”
  • “Everything we’ve done has been fun because everyone was friendly.”

How do I book?

There’s no need to book or sign up. Just turn up on the day and we will welcome you, whether you want to come along once, every week or anywhere in between. We’re a friendly and informal group.

More information:

For an up to date list of weekly activities, please visit https://innercompassguide.com/community-hub/ or contact Jessica on 07756 667533 or connector@southhamscvs.or.guk

We hope to see you there! And if you can’t make it but you know someone who might like to join us, please let them know.

The Library is wheelchair accessible and has a hearing loop. There is a bus stop within 100 metres and a car park right outside the building.
