Covid And The Inner Compass
October 19, 2020

We are sitting in our camper van overlooking the choppy Atlantic waters from a cliff in North Cornwall. Our van is lurching as gusts of wind batter us broadside restlessly whistling with impatience.

It is such a different day from the sunshine and blue skies that greeted us two days ago.

Blue skies and blue seas - overlooking headland in cornwall

As I look down towards the headland and falling tide – I’m struck by the timelessness of the view with the seagulls, waves, cliffs and rugged rocks.

This seems a million miles away from the ever-increasing concerns about Covid restrictions and lockdown. Here, when you walk outside the blasting wind brings you right back in touch with the energy of the elements and the rawness of nature. Life somehow seems simple. There is something immediate and in the now about each day.

The choppy waters and crashing waves remind me of the journey communities will have to make in coming weeks and months. As I listen to the news I hear the concerns of economic hardship and mental health issues as the Covid impact really starts to set in. How can communities find a way to ride through the inevitable challenges that are arising? Are there different ways we might find to support each other?

The Wellbeing Listener programme is our way of reminding people within communities that resilience and wellbeing are their birthright. Stu and I understand that the best preparation for the uncertain future we are all facing – is to ensure we are travelling with a light mental-load. When you start to understand how your inner compass works and when you start to see that you have the intuitive power and capacity to take the next step. You don’t need to plan the whole journey, the future is so uncertain it would be practically impossible to do so. However you are able to settle into that gentle energy that is constantly nudging you into the flow of life.

All you need to do is understand the difference between the urgent agitation of thoughts, fears and insecurities and the feeling of calm, centred awareness that is the observer of it all.

When you start to get in touch with your true nature then you find yourself able to navigate with more ease.

Take a look at our upcoming programmes and events if you’d like to be part of this nourishing way of moving forward.
